Dr. Amin Al Amiri,
CEO for Medical Practice and Licensee, Ministry of Health

Dr. Amin Hussian Al Amiri is the CEO for Medical Practice and License Sector in UAE Ministry of Health, and the Chairman of the UAE Supreme National Blood Transfusion Committee. Dr. Al Amiri got his PhD. in Medical Science in 2003 from Aberdeen University in Scotland; UK.

Until 2004, his Excellency was the Chairman of G.C.C Blood Transfusion Committee as well as the Arab Region Blood Transfusion Society. Currently he is the Regional Director for Blood Transfusion East Mediterranean ISBT, and adviser for world Health Organization (WHO).

Dr. Al Amiri has been selected by the the International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) among the 21 personalities worldwide for reviewing publications regarding voluntary non remunerated blood donation, and among 100 personalities worldwide for active participation in publication and supporting the development of Blood Transfusion.

His Excellency voluntary activities included other responsibilities such as Co Chairing Emirates Voluntary Association till 2003. In addition to this, he is taking the responcibilty as a Secretary General of Sharjah Voluntary Award since 2001 till date.

He has many publications in the field of blood transfusion in local and international journals.

Dr. Al Amiri was awarded from GCC executive office and the Arab League.

Dr. Martin Denz, President,
European Health Telematics Association

Martin Denz is President of EHTEL and President of the Swiss Association for Telemedicine and eHealth.

After Board Certifications for General Medicine, Internal Medicine and Psychiatry / Psychotherapy, he completed his education with organisational development, Master Educations in Health Information Management and eGovernance.

Holding key positions at the University Hospital of Zürich and the Swiss Medical Association, he fostered eHealth in Switzerland and thereafter assisted the Swiss Government in developing the National eHealth Strategy.

Martin currently focuses his activities on eHealth and Telehealth, Health Management, Organizational and Strategy Development, eGovernance. Within EHTEL, Martin takes an active role on patients' issues and sustainable telemedicine.

Dr. Habib El-Habr,
UN Regional Director, Environment Program

Dr. Habib N. El-Habr is the Director and Regional Representative of the United Nations Environment Programme Regional Office for West Asia (UNEP/ROWA)
Dr. El-Habr received his Masters Degree in Public Health in 1983 from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and a Ph.D. in Freshwater Ecology in 1987 from University of Lyon, France. From 1983 to 1988, he worked at the National Scientific Research Council in France as a Water Research Specialist. He joined UNEP in November 1988, becoming Officer-in-Charge and Deputy Chief of the Freshwater Unit at the UNEP Headquarters in Nairobi until 1995, when he moved to Japan to assume the functions of the Deputy Director of the UNEP International Environment Technology Center. From September 1996 to December 1998, Dr. El-Habr was the Regional Coordinator for the UNEP Regional Coordinating Unit for East Asian Seas in Bangkok, Thailand, prior to moving to Bahrain and his current position.
Besides his expertise in freshwater resources management, Dr. El-Habr during his long experience with UNEP has worked in coastal and marine management, wastewater mangement, environmental health and environmental assessment. Dr. El-Habr’s strength is in the development of policy options and advice to the concerned governments on major environmental issues. He is also member of the United Nations Disaster Coordination Team.

Prof. Bo Bergman, Director,
Centre for Healthcare Improvement

Bo Bergman is SKF professor at the Department of Quality Sciences at Chalmers University of Technology since 1999. He is also the founding chairman of Centre for Healthcare Improvement (CHI) in Gothenburg. During 1983 - 1999 he was Professor of Quality Technology and Management at Linköping University, Bo Bergman's research interests covers wide areas of quality of both quantitative and qualitative nature. Before joining Linköping University he worked 15 years with Saab Aerospace as a reliability engineer, as an internal statistical consultant, and as a manager of the Statistical Unit. During this period he also received his PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Lund University and was for a time an adjoint professor in Reliability Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm. He has authored some hundred papers and seven books. He has received the Jack Youden Award for best expository paper in Technometrics 1997, and the Akao Award for his contributions to QFD. Furthermore, he is a member of many societies and Academies e.g. the International Statistical Institute (ISI) and the International Academy for Quality (IAQ).
